Where the Money Goes

GOAL for 2011
To raise US $30,000 for a TBD educational infrastructure projects in Nepal. Currently, Jwalant is looking at building a school in a remote village in Eastern Nepal, a three day walk from the nearest road.

2010

In 2010, we raised $15,000 to build a secondary school wing of the Shree Bindawasini Lower Secondary School, in Chandani, Nepal. Chandani is situated three hours northeast of Kathmandu en route to Melamchipul Bazaar and sits on the banks of the Indrawati River. Currently there are over 320 students at the school and the new wing will allow the village and surrounding area to significantly expand that number.

2009

We had an amazing 2009, smashing our $20,000 fundraising goal with construction on the Shree Pathivara Primary School beginning in January 2010. Board Members Jwalant Gurung and Eddie Minkoff visited the school for the groundbreaking in January (click here for Eddie's account). Additional detail on the school can be found here.

2006-2008

From 2006 to 2008, 3 Summits for Nepal climbs raised over $30,000 to fund the Mitrata Orphanage in Kathmandu
